Daycare Nightmare in Baltimore City
Baltimore City is a dump for all. I had the opportunity to start a new leaf and provide a better life for my kids. I got my old job back and was currently staying with a friend of mine of 12 years. Mind you, she has a one bedroom apartment in an okay area. Anyway, getting daycare should be easy when you are employed and have enough funds to start for a child. I was wrong. The prices were reasonable and location is in close proximity. Unfortunately, the process to get started was not a easy task. I already have my documents prepared in case they asked for it. I called one of few daycare about rates and hours. She was extremely busy and was told to call back on her personal phone. This is the phone number that was in her ad in Craiglist. I scrapped that one for sure! I called another one and nobody answer. It was in the mid week during daytime so therefore, somebody should be there answering the phone for inquiries and emergencies. Next one, I called this daycare which I found on the Maryland Daycare website. Mind you, some listings are so out of date that hours were not he same as told on the phone or phone number was not active. This is website that Maryland DSS Childcare passing out flyers in the application packet. I started to looked into Head Start from the Y program in Baltimore City. I will explain more in my other post.
